Edgewise Bar Graph Meters

Otek offers a large selection of Edgewise Digital Bargraph Panel Meters that come in many industry standard sizes.  All offer a 51 segment bargraph and 4 or more digits to accurately display your process variable(s). 

As well as being displays, many bargraphs offer serial I/O, Relay and DAC outputs as well as signal conditioning networks to accept a variety of inputs such as current, voltage, thermocouple and RTD.


The LBD (1.74"W x 6.00"H x 2.30"D) is a versatile loop powered 4 1/2 digit LCD bargaph controller with over 20 different input signal options. Panel cutout (1.77"W x 5.70"H).

The LBD is available in 2 basic versions: 1. Loop Powered: Uses NANOWATT Technology for display, RS232E I/O and Automatic Tricolor Backlight. 2. Externally Powered: ANALOG INPUTS: Industry's standard 4-20mA, mA and VDC are included. Custom signal conditioners for %RH, pH, TC, RTD, RMS, S-G and more are available on request. MATH FUNCTIONS: RTD, TC & X-Y linearization plus Tare, Offset, Scale, Peak and more are programmable via simple commands. (Needs Serial I/O).CONTROL OUTPUTS: 4 each relays or 4 open collector transistors for High, High-High, Low and Low-Low Control. (Needs Serial I/O)ANALOG OUTPUT: Optional isolated 0-1mA, 4-20mA, 0-20mA or 0-5VDC with 16 Bit resolution. (Needs Serial I/O) SERIAL I/O" Standard is RS232 with optional RS485 or USB. Another "World's First" joins OTEK's long list of Powerless™(Patented ) Loop Powered Instruments. POWERLESS™:  The LPB-0 has 50 segments bright high efciency segments for 2% resolution and can be set for "Pointer" (1, 3 or 5) as well as full bargraph operation. The unit's low 4.5V burden in the loop allows for multiple units strung along the factory or with only 2 wires and NO power supply to connect. POWERED:  The "Powered" version accepts 6-32 VDC & 90-265 VAC isolated power and 5 VDC nonisolated.  Here you can use any of our standard signal conditioners (see description and ordering information) or we will design it for your.  The LPB series is complemented by other Powerless series for A. C. signals (ACS), DC signals (VSP) and loop signals (LPS) to match your control panel. The bargraph is unicolor red.  For custom colors or segments, use #9 on 3rd digit and specify it. SIGNAL CONDITIONERS:  The LPB series offers over 20 signal conditioners to interface directly to your sensor/transducer (see ordering information and descriptive sections).  The Powered version can supply power to your sensor/transmitter.  The Powerless™ version extract the parasitic power (<100mW) from your signal (ac or dc) to power itself. CUSTOMS:  OTEK has developed over 40 signal conditions (our "SC" series) for any signal and most of them can be included on the LPB.  They even include 4-20mA transmission so the LPB becomes a "transmitter bargraph."  Contact OTEK for your special needs. 

OTEK's TBD (3.10"W x 6"H x 3"D) is a triple isolated bar-digital controller/meter with 51 sgement auto tri-color bargraph and (3) four digit displays. Essentially, the unit can replace three units in one!

The TRC (3.10"W x 6"H x 3"D) is the first instrument of its kind that offers isolated redundant control at an affordable price in a compact package. This unit is specifically designed and dedicated to triple redundant control of one (1) specific parameter.

DESCRIPTION: What is it?  A redundant controller is a common term used in military, space and nuclear industries to ensure Fail Safe operation of critical processes where human errors, wiring, sensor or equipment failure is possible, thus preventing loss of product, investment or environment. How is it done? In large and small applications, 3 expensive and sophisticated computers are used to monitor/control critical parameters.  The TRC is the first instrument of its kind that offers redundant control at an affordable price in a compact package dedicated to redundant control of one (1) specific parameter.
The TRC contains 3 identical isolated channels with their own A/D, DAC, uC, relays, Serial I/O and power supply. The core of the TRC is the algorithm performed by the CPU that continuously compares the serial output of each channel to the other 2.  Having all 3 channels monitoring the signals from 3 different sensors/transmitters at the process site using their own isolated power source and wiring eliminates single point failures.The CPU is con?gured via keypad (or serial) to set a “window” of acceptance (i.e. 5% band).  This means that any channel that falls outside of this window (as compared to the other 2) is disabled by the CPU and reported (alarms) to the supervisory personnel or equipment.  It’s important to note that the TRC’s function is to assure redundant control of the process by a democratic (majority) algorithm in addition to accurate data presentationThe majority rules!  The TRC eliminates 3 out of the 4 most important causes of catastrophes:  sensor, wiring and instrumentation.  The human error is up to the user.  
CPU FAILURE:  In the event the CPU was to fail (see block diagram), all 3 channels’ controllers would cease to receive COP data from the CPU.  After a delay, the TRC will:  1) Cease to transmit serial data; 2) Each channel (display, relays, DACS) will continue to operate normally, but independent of each other (lost its commander).3)  All numerical displays will continue to display their data, but their own bargraph will turn ALL orange.4)  Other visual indications on requests (use #9 on digit 8 and contact OTEK).
